Whew! It’s been too long since I’ve written! This summer we went on a fabulous vacation back East. We drove to Washington, D.C. first to stay with our dear friends the Warnicks. We toured the city for a few days taking in the Spy Museum (two thumbs way up), the Air and Space Museum (always a big hit) and a VIP tour of the Capitol Building with a staffer from Rep. Jim Matheson of Utah (way to go Stanley Lloyd!!). After D.C., all of us drove down to Williamsburg, VA to immerse ourselves in colonial life. We toured Colonial Williamsburg and visited some friends from our Cambridge days, the Omans. We took a break from history to splash around at Water Country and then headed off to see both Jamestown and Yorktown.
We stopped off to visit more Boston friends, the DeVores, in McLean, VA, before heading to Gettysburg, PA. The museum there is AMAZING! We then made our wildest dreams come true at Hershey Park in Hershey, PA. Finally, we visited my college roomie, Leslie, her husband Christhiann, and their girls in Wellsboro, PA.
After two weeks on the road, we were exhausted– but it was well worth it.
